Earths Amenities Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera ADVANCED Due to the Potential Presence of Methanol (Wood Alcohol)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (July 24, 2020) Las Vegas, Nevada: Earths Amenities is voluntarily recalling all lots of Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera, ADVANCED, manufactured by DDI Multinacional SA de CV listed in the table below to the consumer level. This recall has been initiated due to the potential presence of methanol. On June 29, 2020, the FDA stopped a shipment from entering the United States from DDI Multinacional SA de CV, the Mexican manufacturer of our product, because FDA testing revealed the presence of undeclared methanol. Earths Amenities is recalling all hand sanitizers manufactured by DDI Multinational SA de CV within expiry because of the potential presence of methanol (wood alcohol).

 

The recalled products manufactured by DDI Multinacional SA de CV with the brand name Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera, ADVANCED was distributed Nationwide in the United States between March 30, 2020 to April 30, 2020

 

Risk Statement: Substantial methanol exposure could result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death. Although all persons using these products on their hands are at risk, young children who accidentally ingest these products and adolescents and adults who drink these products as an alcohol (ethanol) substitute, are most at risk for methanol poisoning.

 

As of the date of this press release, Earths Amenities has not received any reports of adverse events related to the DDI Multinacional Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera ADVANCED product.

These products are used as hand sanitizers and marketed to help decrease bacteria on the skin when soap and water are not available. The Recalled “Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera ADVANCED Hand Sanitizer are packed in a clear container and clear cap in the following sizes:

We have notifying our resellers and customers by recall letter and consumers via this press release. Earths Amenities is arranging for the return of all Recalled Earths Amenities Instant Unscented HAND SANITIZER with aloe vera, ADVANCED products.

Consumers/distributors/retailers that have the product subject to this recall should stop using/distributing/selling Hand Sanitizer and return it to the place of purchase or download

We also want to inform you that DDI Multinacional SA de CV is NOT our normal day-to-day manufacturing facility for hand sanitizers. Our main factory is an entirely different manufacturing facility with an entirely different FDA registered factory. DDI Multinacional SA de CV has nothing to do with our normal manufacturing facility, which is an entirely different location and manufacturer. Our normal Hand Sanitizer has an entirely different formula, is made at an entirely different FDA-registered facility, with the following Drug Code Numbers: 74949-001-60, 74949-001-25, 74949-001-49, and 74949-001-01.
